This pair of candlesticks was owned until 1936 by Kurt Glogowski (1890–1960) of Berlin, a prominent Jewish businessman, art collector, and patron of the arts. The provenance “Kurt Glogowski” is documented in the inventories of international museums. Following an amicable agreement with the consignors, the present sale is conducted on behalf of the heirs of Kurt Glogowski, who will receive the entire proceeds of the sale.
