George I Tea Caddy Set in Case

Silver. Consisting of two tea caddies and a sugar bowl with lid. The caddies in rectangular form with chamfered corners; the inserted lid plate with cylindrical spout and domed cover. The round sugar bowl on a domed foot; the lid also serves as a dish with its small stand ring. All parts with engraved coat of arms in a high oval cartouche, the lid of the sugar bowl additionally with crest.
In the original case, covered with sharkskin and lined with red velvet, with brass fittings. Marks: BZ London for 1723 – 1725, MZ of the sugar bowl Edward Gibbon (from 1723, Grimwade No. 589). MZ of the tea caddies Bowles Nash (from 1721, Grimwade No. 195). Height of the tea caddies 11.5 cm; of the sugar bowl 9.5 cm, total weight 721 g.
